Universal Music Group (UMG) label divisions Def Jam Recordings, 0207 Def Jam and Def Jam Africa have announced the global signing of Ghanaian afropop, dancehall and reggae musician Stonebwoy to the global Def Jam family of artists.
Def Jam Africa will represent their music across Africa, while Def Jam Recordings will become their US label with 0207 Def Jam backing the record in the UK.
This label partnership demonstrates UMG’s global commitment to bringing Stonebwoy’s eclectic sound and Ghanaian musical culture to new audiences around the world.

Stonebwoy is an award-winning African artist who has put the continent firmly on the music map with international tours, outstanding collaborations and hugely popular singles since 2012.
One of Ghana’s most relevant superstars, Stonebwoy will release his brand new single, Therapy, on May 3 through Def Jam Recordings, 0207 Def Jam and Def Jam Africa, backed by UMG labels worldwide.
Therapy coming off an already illustrious career of four albums, countless hits and film roles, not to mention his philanthropic work under the ‘Livingston Foundation’, educating young Africans and uplifting the youth of Ghana.
The single is the first release from his newly signed recording contract with Def Jam, home to some of the biggest names in hip-hop, Afrobeats and trap talent on the continent, and is the lead single from the brand new album by Stonebwoy due to mid drop. -2022.
