HESTA recognizes Liverpool Hospital for care delivery | Liverpool City Champion

Liverpool Hospital has been named a finalist for the 2022 HESTA Australian Nursing and Midwifery Award.

The hospital is one of two – along with Beaudesert Hospital Maternity Hospital in Queensland – shortlisted for the Outstanding Organization award.

The winner will be named on May 19 at an awards ceremony in Melbourne.

About our local facility, HESTA said: “Liverpool Hospital is recognized for the incredible efforts of its nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic, when they were at the epicenter of two ‘waves’ of outbreaks, including the Delta strain. It is thanks to their hard work that has saved hundreds of lives and treated thousands of patients with kindness and compassion across the organization.”

HESTA CEO Debby Blakey said she was touched by the finalists’ work to provide exceptional healthcare to their communities, which was essential during the pandemic.

“Australia owes a great debt to our nurses and midwives,” Ms Blakey said.

“They are a vital part of our healthcare system and have worked tirelessly to keep our communities safe. The work done, not just by our finalists but by everyone in the industry, to champion healthcare and term of their patients is truly inspiring.

“Congratulations and thank you to all of the nominees and finalists for their leadership and dedication – we are so proud of the incredible contribution you are making and feel very privileged to have this opportunity to shine a light on your accomplishments.”

The Nurse of the Year and Midwife of the Year will also be named at the awards night.
