Anti-vaccine protesters indicted after protest at Joondalup clinic

Two people protesting the vaccinations in front of schoolchildren at the Lakeside Joondalup Clinic have been charged by police after the vision of the protest was posted on a fake news Facebook page.

Police charged the protesters with separate incidents outside the mall’s vaccination clinic on November 16.

At around 10 a.m., a group staged a protest outside the clinic as schoolchildren waited for their vaccines. The protest was broadcast live at the time.

A 52-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman have received travel orders from the police. Police have investigated and, after viewing the live footage, officers will allege the 52-year-old entered the clinic and shouted anti-vaccination messages before being physically removed.

Police have since charged the man with summons for trespassing and disorderly behavior in a public place, and he is due to appear in Perth Magistrates’ Court on December 6.

It will also be alleged that a 64-year-old man from Duncraig visited stores almost two hours later to join the protest but refused to leave when requested by security at the center.

Police further allege that the man acted threateningly towards a female security guard before the other security and the public intervened to restrain him until officers arrived.

The man was charged with trespassing and common assault and also received a restraining order from the mall.
